A lifelong interest in art and creative crafts led Celeste
to watercolor painting in the 1980's. Her work focuses
mainly on still life and florals. Influenced by the simple
beauty of oriental art, she developed a technique using rice
paper pieces dipped in puddles of watercolor and arranged
to create delicate patterns suggesting flowers.

From this has evolved an appliqué process that enhances
backgrounds of watercolor washes with paper shapes
dipped  in color to add texture and interest.

A member of the Northern Vermont Artist Association,
Celeste exhibits in group and solo shows, and her work is
displayed in local businesses and in private collections in the
U.S. and Canada.
